Care is half the battle!
Extensions need proper care and nutrition at all times. A certain light amount of silicone or natural fats/oils form the basis of the care. This is in contrast to your own hair, where silicones cause the hair strands to become clogged and break off, resulting in hair loss. Your own hair does need natural fats/oils for good care.
Your own hair has the ability to repair itself using, for example, vitamins and minerals. Extensions cannot absorb this on their own as extensions are actually dead hair and are no longer nourished from the hair root.
Instead of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients, extensions therefore need silicone or the right fats/oils in a certain amount. These provide softness and shine so that the extensions can last as long as possible. If care products contain corrosive substances such as alcohol and fruit acids, the extensions are seriously affected. It is therefore important that you pay close attention to how you care for the extensions.
What is the best way to generally care for our hair extensions?
We advise you not to color or bleach unnecessarily (when coloring we recommend going from light to dark. Coloring is always at your own risk)
- Please do not swim with it (otherwise in a high bun or protective cap)
- Take good care of the hair with good nourishing products. Shampoo Conditioner Mask and Serum!
- Let it dry naturally, or blow-dry on the cold setting
- Always use a serum in the ends after washing
- Comb the hair twice a day with a hair extension brush
- ALWAYS end every wash with a conditioner or mask
- Do not allow conditioners, masks and after-care products to come into contact with the roots of the extensions
Treatment for dry/coarse hair
- Comb out all tangles from the hair
- If tangles return repeatedly, use a Deep Treatment Mask.
(This often happens in the winter period. The hair then becomes tangled several times a day) - Wash the hair 2 to 3 times with a shampoo to get all the chemicals out
- Use a good mask 2-3 times or leave on all night
- Let it dry naturally or blow-dry on the cold setting
Possible reasons for the hair becoming dry/stiff quickly:
Dust and grease (from your skin) / Chemicals (e.g. alcohol or chlorine) / Substances that chafe the hair (e.g. a scarf) / Too much straightening or curling at high temperatures.
Possible reasons for hair loss:
Handmade jobs / Chemical agents (e.g. alcohol or chlorine) / Cutting the I-tips / Coloring the hair.
Care Curls
Straight hair and curls require more intensive care than straight hair.
